Just because Halloween lands on a work day doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate! In fact, most employees love celebrating holidays at work. It’s a great way to hang out with your co-workers, eat great food, and even dress up for work!

Don’t know how to celebrate but still keep things professional? We’ve got you covered!

1. Costume Party

In all reality, Halloween is all about dressing up. Allow your employees to dress up on Halloween day or even think of some group costumes you can all wear! Your customers will love coming in to an office filled with Halloween spirit!

Encourage employees to dress up by offering awards for the best costumes. Don’t make your staff vote for their favorite costume because, let’s be honest, it’s often a popularity contest. Try offering awards for different categories like funniest costume, most creative costume, and scariest costume. Offer rewards like gift cards, candy bags, or even coupons for a “leave early from work” day!

2. Halloween Breakfast

If you’re trying to bring the team together, this is a great way opportunity to get everyone together. Some great food staples for a Halloween breakfasts are pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, pumpkin muffins, apple cider, and of course-doughnuts.

3. Halloween Decorations

Offer prizes for best and most festively decorated work area!

4. Pumpkin Carving Contests

Start at around 4 p.m. so staff can bring their children in for the pumpkin carving contest.

5. Trick or Treating

What’s better than Halloween on a Friday? Getting candy at work! Encourage employees to bring some candy and go “tick or treating” from cubicle to cubicle.

You can also have a bag of candy at the front of the office since a lot of children do go trick or treating to local offices.
