What You’ll Do as a Packer Associate in Hobart, IN

• Report defective materials, inaccurate quantity or wrong part to the Depot Supervisor.
• Palletize and shrink-wrapping product for shipping.
• Assemble boxes and box kit according to requirements.
• Operate shrink-wrap turnstile and banding equipment as needed to package material.
• Ensure that products are packed correctly so that shipment arrives to destination intact with no damages/shortages.
• Pack merchandise according to requirements.
• Seal cartons using tape or other materials.
• Mark and label cartons using marking tools.
• Work in a safe manner, follow all safety rules and report any potential safety hazards to management.
• Perform other general warehouse duties and responsibilities as required.
• Ability to lift/move 50lbs using proper lifting skills.


Requirements & Skills for Packer Associates in Hobart, IN

  • Experience in a fast‑paced industrial environment
  • Exposure to high‑volume orders
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and strong data entry skills

Primary Duties

  • Operate truck scale equipment to record accurate gross, tare, and net weights
  • Prepare Bills of Lading, Certificates of Analysis, Scale Tickets, Labels, ISO forms, reports, and other documentation for both hazardous and non‑hazardous materials
  • Verify load details including product type, lot and seal numbers, and carrier information
  • Maintain precise electronic and paper records in line with ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 food‑safety standards
  • Enter scale data into Continuity software
  • Follow GMPs and hygiene standards for food‑grade operations
  • Inspect trailers, tankers, totes, and packaging for sanitation compliance
  • Report contamination risks, product discrepancies, and nonconformance issues promptly
  • Support lot control, traceability, and documentation for FSSC 22000 or HACCP programs
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, quality, and customer service to support loading and unloading plans
  • Communicate delays, driver issues, exceptions, and documentation errors
  • Deliver excellent customer service to drivers, carriers, and customers
  • Participate in safety and operational training
  • Assist with customer complaints and corrective action documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
