Position Details:

  • OVERNIGHT WEEKLY TRAVEL REQUIRED.
  • MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, INSURANCE and RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION.
  • WEEKLY PER DIEM.
  • Operate one or more weld machines to fabricate metal parts or assemblies to specifications applying to basic knowledge of welding theory on production basis.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machine factors, such as wire feed speed, amperage, polarity, type of gas, and type of weld rod.
  • Start machine, engage feed, and observe operation.
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces to verify conformances to specifications.
  • Move machine controls and guides to adjust machine.
  • Lift work piece manually or using hoist and secure work piece in fixture or load automatic feeding device.
  • Unload welded parts from robotic welder and place on appropriate containers.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Perform all functions involved in operation of robotic welder, including programming, touch point, and operations corrections.
  • Maintain accurate counts of parts; attach labels or tags to finished part containers identifying customer, part number, quantity and shop order information.
  • Perform basic MIG and TIG welding techniques as needed.
  • Read job specifications (e.g., blueprints, quality control plans and/or traveler notes) to determine type of welding and material requirements.
  • Examine finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans, and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Robotic Welding Manager.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Second Shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm.
  • Monday – Friday with mandatory overtime as needed, including weekends.
  • Third Shift: 10:00pm – 6:00am.
  • Sunday – Thursday with mandatory overtime as needed, including weekends.
  • Earn $24.00/hour plus weekly per diem.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to process pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs.
  • Certificate or degree in welding is preferred.
  • At least twelve months welding experience; thirty-six months preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Must possess strong math skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, manuals, and work with computers, machines, and motion-control robots.
