Modern day work environments consist of long periods of sitting, many takeout meals on your short lunch break, eye strain from your computer screen, contradicting co-workers that give you different answers and ways of doing work, and stress as you are overwhelmed with the work piled on your desk. Just BREATHE! Remember you can only do as much as you can. The work will get done, but you need to remember in order to do the work correctly, you need to focus on you and your wellness.You will never make everyone happy so make yourself happy.
In order to make yourself happy in your workplace and to give you the opportunity to enjoy your job, you need to practice the five areas of wellness. These areas include:
Purpose– Liking what you do each day and being motivated to achieve your goals.
Social– Having supportive relationships and love in your life.
Financial– Managing your economic life to reduce stress and increase security.
Community– Liking where you live, feeling safe, and having pride in your community.
Physical– Having good health and enough energy to get things done daily.
When you evaluate and utilize these five areas of wellness, you will realize it is more than a fancy treadmill or healthy snacks. Each of these elements reinforce one another. Go day by day believing in yourself and breathing. Your job doesn’t have to take over your life because you are overwhelmed with all of your work. YOU CAN DO IT!
